Utah TikTok Star Taylor Frankie Paul Arrested for Assault, Domestic Violence
Assault and domestic violence charges have been filed against a Utah TikTok star with more than four million followers after an altercation at her home in Herriman.
According to Fox 13, 28-year-old Taylor Frankie Paul was charged with one count of assault, one count of criminal mischief, and one count of domestic violence in the presence of a child following her arrest on February 17.
Paul was reportedly held for almost nine hours before being released. The Herriman City Police Department said new video evidence following the arrest could elevate the assault charge to a felony and introduce another misdemeanor charge of reckless child abuse.
"Following her jail booking, detectives received additional video evidence related to this case that resulted in the case being referred to the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office for screening of felony assault charges against Ms. Paul," the police department said in a statement. It added that "this evidence also suggests that during the incident, Ms. Paul's minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul. Subsequently, our investigators are also screening a misdemeanor charge of reckless child abuse with the District Attorney's Office."

Status of Utah TikTok Star Will Not Affect the Investigation, Authorities Say
In the probable cause affidavit, Taylor Frankie Paul and the unidentified victim got into an argument, and a neighbor reportedly called the police after hearing yelling and screaming coming from inside the home.
When police officers arrived, they also reported hearing yelling from inside while they approached the door. As they started questioning Paul and the victim, the cops observed the Utah TikTok star "lunge at the victim and began pushing/hitting him."
Authorities then separated the pair and identified Paul as the aggressor, who was intoxicated. According to ABC 4, police said Paul allegedly hit the victim several times and threw metal chairs, a wooden child playset, and other household items at him, causing elbow pain.
The playset reportedly damaged the victim's truck parked outside the home. The probable cause affidavit noted that one of Paul's minor children was on the living room couch during the argument. Based on the new video evidence, police said the girl may have been injured as a result of the altercation.
The Utah TikTok star shares a 5-year-old daughter, Indy, and a 2-year-old son, Ocean, with her former husband, Tate Paul, The New York Post reported. In the statement, police said Paul's status as a social media influencer "has no bearing or impact on the investigation or outcome of this case."
The police statement added that "all allegations of domestic violence are investigated thoroughly and in accordance with state law and established criminal justice best practices to protect victims and ensure accountability."

Her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, recently told the Daily Mail that the Utah TikTok star "never hurt anyone intentionally." Before the arrest, Mortensen noted that he had driven to pick up Taylor Frankie Paul from a Galentine's Day party and then drove her back to her house.
The tiling company boss has refused to say what happened after they arrived at her home but admitted that he was not allowed to speak with her at the moment. However, Mortensen said Paul "never hurt anyone intentionally," adding that they did not argue.
He continued saying, "I don't even want the truth to come out. She's so broken right now. I tried to help her... She's a good mom. She's going through a lot in her life right now. Taylor's been struggling, it's been a hard year for her. She is racked with guilt on her cheating scandal that cost her her marriage."
Taylor Frankie Paul is the Mormon influencer who went viral on TikTok last year after revealing her "soft-swinging" experiences. Last May, she revealed that she and her former husband were in a soft-swinging group with other MomTok creators, which means they swapped sexual partners with other couples," E! Online reported.
Paul said they agreed not to "go all the way," but confessed that she "did step out of that agreement" and went "too far" with someone's spouse, leading to her divorce and a few lost friendships.
