Shakira's very public feud with ex-partner Gerard Pique after he cheated on her resulted in one of the most viral diss songs ever sung in Spanish, "BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 5." Now, the Colombian music icon is talking about why it was very important to her.

She sat down with Mexican journalist Enrique Acevedo about her song, and CNN noted that this was her first interview since releasing both collaboration songs, the first with Argentinian music producer and DJ, Bizarrap and the second with fellow Colombian singer Karol G.

"I think I would be in a very different place if I had not made that song, [to have] the chance to express myself, to think about pain," Shakira told Acevedo in the interview. She added that she was grateful to the Argentinian as he gave her an opportunity to vent.

"It was a great relief, also necessary for my own healing, for my own recovery process," she said. The singer also admitted that the collaboration between the two was a suggestion from Milan, her son with Pique. She added that he called the DJ "the Argentine god."

The Colombian admitted that she has always been "emotionally dependent on men" during the interview but added, "Now I feel complete because I feel that I depend on myself and that I also have two children that depend on me, so I have to be stronger than a lioness."

However, not all seems to be going well, as she said in the interview, "I also had that dream of having a family in which the children had a father and a mother under the same roof. Not all dreams in life come true, but life finds a way to make it up to you in some way."

Shakira Says She Is Ready for the Next Round

The interview was aired on the show "El Punto," last Tuesday. Just before it aired, several snippets of the interview were shown as teasers.

According to Marca, the singer stated, "There's a place reserved in hell for those women who don't support others." This seems to be aimed at Gerard Pique's new partner, Clara Chia,

In another snippet, she stated, "I'm ready for the next round, let life come and show me what else is out there."

Gerard Pique and Shakira Had an Agreement for Their Children

Often, breakups such as this result in bitter custody battles for the children. However, as bad as the breakup sounds right now, especially with all the trolling and diss songs, The Daily Mail has reported that the two are actually in agreement when it comes to the good of their children.

Last November, their kids were spared a contentious legal battle when the former FC Barcelona star's lawyer, Ramon Tamborero, stated, "They have made a great effort for the good of their children, making sure they weren't the protagonists. Both of them have shown great intelligence."

Sasha and Milan, their two kids, are staying with their mother. However, Pique can still see them granted that his new girl, Clara Chia, would not be around. As for Shakira, she is reportedly moving to Miami to start over, and she's taking the kids with her.
