Florida Man Shoots Car of Young Couple Who Drove to Wrong Address for Instacart Delivery
A young South Florida couple was terrified when they were shot at while delivering groceries to the incorrect house in Southwest Ranches, NBC Miami reported.
Waldes Thomas claimed that on Saturday, he and his girlfriend, Diamond D'arville, were making deliveries for Instacart.
The customer was on the phone with them as they attempted to locate her residence, but they went to the wrong house on Southwest 178th Avenue.
They were preparing to leave when they spotted a flashlight on the property.
"He's like, 'Who are you?' and we're saying we're with Instacart," D'arville said.
D'arville claimed they may have thought this was the intended recipient, but things quickly went downhill.
The Florida man gets in his truck, reverses, and pulls up behind them, D'arville said.
She saw the man pull out a gun as they fled the scene.
"I had seen him pull out a gun, and that's when I said, 'We got to go, we got to go,'" D'arville said, adding that it scared her and she is not lying.

Florida Instacart Delivery Shooting
According to the complaint, the Florida man, Antonio Caccavale, 43, reported to police that he observed a car on his property and told his son to warn them to leave.
After his son called for help, Caccavale approached the vehicle and saw the driver allegedly driving "erratically," swerving across the yard and running over logs, stones, and the fence.
The police report states that when the car allegedly drove over Caccavale's foot, he feared for his and his son's safety and drew his handgun, firing several shots at the car's tires.
Thomas and D'arville, the young Florida couple, tried to reverse and fled the area but hit a boulder. Then the Florida man aggressively approached them and held onto the driver's window; they told the police.
Thomas reportedly heard three gunfire in the immediate vicinity as he sought to flee the scene.
The couple tried to leave the area, hearing three more gunshots, the police report said.
Meanwhile, both parties appeared to justify their actions according to the conditions they viewed, so police decided there would be no need to press charges.
State Attorney Harold Pryor from Broward County told ABC News that detectives from the Davie Police Department never contacted his office about the shooting.
Pryor said, "I contacted the Davie Police Department to request a full investigation." His prosecutors will then determine whether to press charges.
As a company, Instacart has made it clear that they take any reports of aggression or threats of violence against any of its member very seriously and acts swiftly to ensure the safety of the Instacart community.
Instacart has contacted the customer and will work with the authorities on any ongoing investigation.
Shooting Involving the Florida Couple Was the Fourth Incident Caused by Wrong Address or Vehicle
At least four shooting incident was recorded the previous month after going to the wrong address or vehicle, including the young Florida couple with the Instacart delivery, HuffPost noted.
Missouri teen Ralph Yarl, 16, was shot earlier this month when he went to the wrong house to pick up his younger siblings. Andrew Lester, age 84, has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action for his suspected role in the shooting.
A New York man was arrested last week and charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and murdering a 20-year-old woman who had accidentally driven into his driveway.
Furthermore, two cheerleaders in Texas were shot on Tuesday when one of them unintentionally got into the incorrect vehicle. Both young women are doing well despite their ordeal. The police have detained a 25-year-old man named Pedro Tello Rodriguez Jr. for the third-degree felony of lethal conduct.
