Donald Trump attempted to spread a new conspiracy theory regarding New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron and his so-called son. As it turns out, the son who Trump claims is attending the fraud trial is a New York Post reporter, and that reporter debunked his most recent attempt at spreading fake news.

In a series of rants, Trump repeatedly shared a photo on social media featuring a bright red arrow pointing at the head of a bearded man at his civil fraud trial. He claimed that the man the arrow was pointing to was Judge Engoron's son and a Democratic operative. However, Trump did not include any evidence that any of his claims about the man were real.

In reality, the man Trump tried to claim was Engoron's son is actually a reporter for the conservative publication, the New York Post. His name is Ben Kochman and he called Trump out about the former president's attempt at another baseless conspiracy theory.

"Trump, 77, on Tuesday yet again signal-boosted the photo of me sitting a few rows into the court gallery along with an article by a fringe-right activist inexplicably claiming Engoron's son is 'financially benefitting' from being given a 'prominent' seat at the trial," wrote Kochman in his New York Post article.

The former president posted the photo on his Truth Social account and was seen by millions of his followers. However, Kochman noted that this was not the first time Trump claimed that he was Engoron's son as the former president also shared another photo of him sitting at the gallery from a post from far-right activist Laura Loomer.

As a reporter for the New York Post, Kochman was there to report on Trump's civil fraud trial where Judge Arthur Engoron has already found him liable of fraud. Trump has been trying to flip the narrative and has been claiming that he is innocent and that the judge is a political operative without any solid evidence to back up those claims.

New York Post Reporter Finally Spoke Up After Donald Trump Shared Fake News About Him Twice

Infamous Trump ally and anti-Muslim activist Laura Loomer wrote a conspiracy theory-laden article about Judge Engoron's son being present in the hearing and being a Democratic operative. Trump shared this on Truth Social but Kochman said that he would not give the claims any air.

However, when Trump shared this new conspiracy theory again, he finally had enough and spoke up, according to The Daily Beast. He wrote, "As for The Donald, "it's unclear if he knows who I am. But hopefully, he'll soon know who I'm not."

What the New Donald Trump Conspiracy Theory About Judge Arthur Engoron Is About

Loomer started the conspiracy theory and shared repeatedly not just by Trump, but disgraced former Congressman George Santos as well. She wrote, "Judge Arthur Engoron has made the Trump trial a family affair and potentially has reserved seats for his son, Ian Engoron, who may be financially benefiting from the Trump Trial via his position at an Democrat activist law firm in New York City, and his father's position as the judge overseeing Trump's trial in NYC."

As Newsweek noted, she did not provide any evidence in her article but this was enough to make many Trump supporters believe in the conspiracy theory. She and Trump have not commented since their conspiracy theory was debunked.

As for the New York Post reporter at the center of it all, Kochman says he will be back when the trial resumes, beard and all.
