Jailbreak iOS 7.1 Pangu, Untethered Cydia Tweaks & Evad3rs Download News: Top Tweaks to Help Block Ads
Fans of iOS jailbreaking have some news to celebrate with four tweaks in Cydia that block advertising, according to gottabemobile.
The ads on phones tend to be even more irritating for users than on a computer due to the small screen sizes.
The screen sizes are the reason why some users accidentally open ads when browsing online or trying to watch videos and listen to music. They are especially cumbersome to avoid when playing games -- an accidental tap will interrupt your game for a pesky ad.
Cydia tweaks for iOS 7 get rid of that online pest for jailbroken iPhones and iPads.
There are four apps that can help block those ads. These are Stream Enhancer, Ad Blocker, No Redirect 2 App Store and No Social Ads.
Ad Blocker is a popular program that has been used effectively for years on computers as well.
Stream Enhancer removes streaming restriction commonly associated with having to play ads on YouTube, Twitch, Hulu Plus, and network TV streaming apps like NBC and Comedy Central.
Some links tend to send you directly to the app store, but with No Redirect app, a pop-up will appear to ask if that is what you want to do, or if you want to avoid the app store.
No Social Ads is likely the most useful for Twitter users whose newsfeeds are constantly sprinkled with promoted or sponsored tweets. This tweak is still a work in progress, but it is being constantly updated and providing better blocking on Facebook as well.
Additionally, a stabilized version of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 was released this weekend.
The standalone tool by p0sixspwn for Windows and Mac has been upgraded, reports autoomobile.
In the meantime, attention is now focused on the much-anticipated iOS 8 which will release along with the iPhone 6 on Sept. 9, according to Argyll free press.
