Fantasy Football 2014 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 6 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
Another NFL Sunday is in the books.
Week 6 kicks off with the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans squaring off on Thursday Night Football. Staying on top of your waiver wire is always critical because you never know when you may need to add a free agent or two on you Fantasy Football team.
Here are five waiver wire players to consider for Week 6.
1. Travis Kelce
The Kansas City Chiefs lost their Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers, but 25-year-old tight end Travis Kelce has been impressive. Kelce has 20 catches for 274 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. Alex Smith isn't the best deep thrower in the league, so he prefers to go underneath to his tight end. Kelce leads the team in yard, reception and touchdowns -- even over wide receiver Dwayne Bowe. Kelce has caught a touchdown the last three consecutive weeks for the Chiefs.
2. Allen Hurns
The Jacksonville Jaguars may be winless at 0-5 after a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but wide receiver Allen Hurns is doing his job. An undrafted rookie out of the University of Miami, Hurns leads the Jaguars team with 280 yards and three touchdowns. Hurns has also shown he can get open and adapt to different Jaguars quarterbacks such as Blake Bortles and Chad Henne. Hurns and the Jaguars swill face the Tennessee Titans next week in Tennessee.
3. Delanie Walker
The Tennessee Titans don't have much of a passing attack, but veteran tight end Delanie Walker has been flying under the radar this season. With Jake Locker hurt, and Titans quarterbacks struggling to throw deep balls, tight ends are just what is needed. Walker has 364 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Good news for Fantasy owners: Walker and the Titans face the 0-5 Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6.
4. Khiry Robinson
Here is a big surprise so far. Khiry Robinson ranks eigth overall in rushing yards in the entire NFL with 304 yards. Robinson is averaging five yards per carry, and his last run for the New Orleans Saints was an 18-yard game-winner in overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you're having running back issues, Robinson could be a very valuable addition in the future. Robinson is also the leading rusher on the Saints ahead of Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas.
5. Brandon Oliver
The San Diego Chargers have been one of the worst rushing teams in the league this season, and their running backs have been battling injuries. Running backs Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead are both hurt. Undrafted rookie Brandon Oliver had a breakout game against the New York Jets with 114 yards on 19 carries. The Chargers will take on the Oakland Raiders in Week 6. Quarterback Philip Rivers can't do everything.
