Anderson Silva will look to reclaim his Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title when he makes his return to the Octagon next year after recovering from a gruesome leg injury.

The Brazilian-born Silva, who will face Nick Diaz in his return at UFC 183 on Jan. 31, said in a recent interview that once he wins in his upcoming fight, he will make a strong push to get another title shot.

"I think about fighting for the title again, of course," Silva said via Bloody Elbow. "I have seven fights left in my contract and, if I have a chance to fight for the title again, I will fight."

The 39-year-old Brazilian then added that he is also open to facing Weidman, the current UFC middleweight champion, who defeated him twice last year.

"I will fight the fights I have left in my contract and, if I earn a chance to fight for the title one day, against Weidman or not -- not being a friend or a training partner -- I will be happy," Silva said.

Silva has not fought since sustaining a broken fibula and tibia in his left leg in December. The former middleweight kingpin added that he is expecting a spectacular fight with Diaz, especially if his opponent fights clean.

"If Nick does a clean fight, if he fights standing without stalling, we'll do a spectacular fight," Silva added. "Nick has a great boxing and it's going to be a fantastic fight. Every UFC fan will like it."

Silva's good friend and Jiu-Jitsu coach, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, said that the veteran mixed martial artist is recovering well from his injury. Nogueira said that Diaz will be a tough opponent, but he predicts a knockout win for Silva in their Jan. 31 showdown.

"Anderson is finishing his healing process," Nogueira said in a R7 interview via Bloody Elbow. "He already started his camp and will be ready on January. Diaz is a good fighter, he once was world champion at Strikeforce and a top contender in his division. Nick is ready for a five round fight and Anderson has to knock him out. Anderson will do it, I'm sure."
