Beyoncé Earned $115 Million in 2014, Making Her Highest Paid Woman in Music: Forbes
Superstar singing sensation Beyoncé saw one of her best years in recent history, financially at least, in 2013 when she pulled in a total of $53 million. Now in 2014 she's proven herself unstoppable, earning more than double what she made last year - a cool $115 million and cementing her spot as the top earning woman in music.
Forbes released its annual list of highest paid female musicians this week and offered up the details on how Queen Bey came to be number one.
According to the report, the songstress played a total of 95 concerts during her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Forbes estimated that Beyoncé pulled in approximately $2.4 million for each city included in the tour.
Beyoncé's surprise self-titled album, released on iTunes in late 2013, led to major record sales and definitely helped add to her 2014 annual income. Also launching Beyoncé into "nine-figure territory" were lucrative endorsements including those with Pepsi and H&M.
"Like everyone else, you work really hard and you want it to be great," Beyoncé told Forbes prior to the poll being published. "What makes me feel comfortable is practice and knowing I'm prepared."
Although Beyoncé outshone all of the other female musical competition by far, Forbes estimates put Taylor Swift at the No. 2 spot, noting that the $64 million she pulled in throughout 2014 made this past year "the highest earning mark" of her entire career.
Former country bumpkin Swift is in the process of a solid effort to rebrand herself as a pop sensation and Forbes says it seems as though Swift's new album "1989" looks like it is set to become this year's biggest selling pop album.
What helped propel Swift into become a musical honey with a whole lot of money, according to Forbes, were the singer's live shows, recorded music and mega endorsements. Swift has contracts with heavy hitters that include Diet Coke, CoverGirl and Keds.
Rounding out the top three female earners is a somewhat unexpected musician du jour. Pink came in just after Swift, having earned a total of $52 million in 2014. Forbes says that most of the cash she brought in this year were the profits from over 85 concerts the songstress performed, taking in an estimated $1 million per city played.
According to a report from Digital Spy, here is a list of the remaining members of the 2014 Top 10 female musician ballers club, along with the precise amount earned by each.

Forbes says that its figures for this annual list are calculated by looking at income from musician's tours, record sales, publishing and merchandising sales, endorsements and other ventures. Earnings are calculated from June 2013 to June 2014 and are based on data from Pollster, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Nielson SoundScan, and from interviews with mangers, lawyers and executives.
