Rihanna, 25, artist, actress and fashion designer, was phoned this past Sunday with the news that her $12 million Los Angeles mansion was nearly broken into while she has been away on her world tour.

On September 29 at 7 p.m., the Barbados-born star was in Australia on her Diamonds World Tour when the alarm company reported that there was an attempted break-in.

The would-be burglar used Rihanna's private road to approach the home, and once he was in the backyard, he threw a chair through her sliding doors, causing the alarm to sound. The incident was recorded by video surveillance, and showed the suspect trying to gain access at the back entrance. The unsuccessful break-in yielded no theft or serious damages, but the assailant is still at large, and the police are actively searching for the perpetrator.

And, evidently this isn't the first time that the "Umbrella" singer has been targeted for theft. During February of this year, when Rihanna was in Hawaii for a birthday celebration with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Chris Brown, someone attempted to burglarize the singer's Pacific Palisades home. That individual was apprehended and arrested, after neighbors saw him in Rihanna's home. Also, her security team found a man creeping on her roof in this past June.

Diamonds World Tour, the artist's fifth concert tour, began on March 8, 2013 in Buffalo, New York. The tour, which is to promote that album of the same name, is an ongoing tour that will end in New Orleans at the New Orleans Arena on November 15th of this year. Each show has five acts, and she performs roughly twenty-four of her fan favorites, which generally includes "Pour It Up," "Birthday Cake," "Rude Boy," "S&M," "Diamonds," and "Mother Mary."

Let's hope that she gets an attack dog for the remainder of her absence from home.
