Kanye West New Music: Yeezus Rapper Releases 'Only One' Song for Baby Nori [Listen]
Kanye West dropped "Only One," a song dedicated to his daughter, North, on Jan. 1.
According to the New York Post, it is the first song West has released in 18 months. Paul McCartney is featured playing the organ on the ballad that became available on iTunes at midnight.
In the song, West sings as his late mother, Donda, who died in 2007.
The song starts off with West saying that he hears his mother's voice, according to Just Jared.
"Hello Omari, how you doing? / I think the storm ran out of rain, the clouds are moving / I Know you're happy, cause I can see it / So tell the voice inside your head to believe it / I talked to God about you / He said he sent you an angel," the song starts.
Later verses say that West asked for an angel, but he got two, referencing wife Kim Kardashian and Nori.
The sentimental song ends with Donda talking about North. It asks West to do her a favor and tell Nori about her. These words are repeated several times at the end.
Kardashian talked about the song on her Twitter account, explaining it was her favorite.
"People always ask me what my favorite Kanye song is and it's Only One. Kanye feels like his mom sang thru him to our daughter," Kardashian said in one tweet.
She added in another message on the social media site the emotional song always makes her cry.
Kardashian also took to Twitter to shoot down rumors she was pregnant.
She also took the time to explain, despite rumors of marriage issues, the two were doing fine.
"Kanye & I are not having marriage problems," she said on Twitter. "We're literally obsessed with each other!"
