The Main Event Tour Dates and Tickets: Nelly and New Kids on the Block Members Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg Talk 2015 Concerts With TLC
New Kids on the Block announced Tuesday on "Good Morning America" plans to go one tour with fellow 90s musicians, TLC and Nelly. The tour is called "The Main Event."
"It's going to be one big, huge massive party. That's a lot of hit records in one night. I'm excited," Joey McIntyre, New Kids on the Block band member, said on "Good Morning America."
Band members McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan and Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood were joined by TLC's Rozonda "Chill" Thomas and Tionne "To-Boz" Watkins on "Good Morning America."
"This is such a great bill and we have so many hit records and such huge followings that we just want to make it the party of the year," Wahlberg said. "That's why we call it 'The Main Event.' It's going to be the event of the year."
Fellow tour mate Nelly joined the announcement and made an appearance via a recorded video message.
"Yo 'Good Morning America'=,'" Nelly said. "Sorry I couldn't be there right now. I'm currently in Japan performing for our troops, but I will be on 'The Main Event' tour with the homies New Kids on the Block and the homegirls TLC. That's right, so make sure ya'll come -- show out."
Wahlberg said the stage being used for the tour is "the most elaborate thing" ever used for the band. Bar seats will surround the 360-degree stage for fans to sit close to the stage and interact with the performers.
The tour announcement came after TLC publicized plans to develop a Kickstarter-funded album.
The last time New Kids on the Block went on tour was in 2013 with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.
"The Main Event" tour begins in Las Vegas on May 1, 2015. The tour has stops across the country with the final show in Buffalo in July. Tickets can be purchases starting Jan. 31.
