House of Cards Season 2 Cast, Release Date, News, and Rumors: 'Political Epic' Will Stream in 4K UHD
House of Cards season two is going to be a political epic. Netflix is continually teasing its biggest critical success with a various press and media released such as a beautifully shot B&W trailer, announcing that the season will stream in 4K to select UHD TV sets, and by releasing the first in a series of cinemagraph GIFs.
House of Cards showrunner Beau Willimon may have been behind the cinemagraph release.
"We created a slew of cinemagraph GIFS for Season 2 and I wanted to share this one with you first. Just a taste for now, but LOTS MORE to come, so keep your eyes peeled, your ears to the ground, and your smart-devices at your finger-tips" said a redditor claiming to be Willimon.
House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey (American Beauty, The Usual Suspects) as Democratic Congressman Frank Underwood. Underwood and his wife, Claire (Robin Wright), are ruthless in their desire to claim more and more power in their home state of South Carolina and Washington D.C. itself. The White House seems to be Underwood's coveted position. The nature of Underwood's position means that he runs in the same circles with equally ambitious men that will do anything to undercut each others power. Underwood always seems to be one step ahead though since he is cunning, charming, and unassuming all at the same time. Everyone in Congress knows Frank Underwood is tough, but no one knows he is a killer. Think of Underwood as a high society Walter White. Spacey gives the character a darkly brilliantly air.
The wait for the season two premiere is almost over. All 13 House of Cards episodes will be released on Valentine's Day, which is really, really funny. Such an occurrence couldn't have been a coincidence and the release date is another brilliant marketing move. David Fincher fans won't be pleased to hear that the director won't be behind the camera this time. Spacey and Wright will pick up some of the slack, though, as they each directed an unnamed number of episodes according to Screen Rant. Fincher will still be involved with the show as an executive producer.
