Imagine if you had the job of counting the number of swear words in a film. Think about that: you're getting paid to watch movies all day, all with the intention of hunting down every one of the so-called "George Carlin Seven" words that inevitably need to get bleeped out of a movie to make it suitable for broadcast television. Well, someone has that job (and unfortunately, it isn't Yours Truly), and that someone determined that The Wolf of Wall Street, the Martin Scorsese film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has set a record for the number of F-bombs dropped in a non-documentary movie.

According to USA Today, Wolf has a staggering 506 instances of the word "f*ck" in its various permutations being uttered over the span of 180 minutes. (Rather impressive, if you ask me... and someone please tell my mother that I couldn't say "f*ck" that many times in three hours if you put me on a command ship of the United States Navy...) The previous holder of the record was the 1999 film, Summer of Sam, directed by Spike Lee, which clocked 432 f-words in 142 minutes. (Remember: that's JUST for the word "f*ck." We all know what other words Spike Lee likes to use in his films...)

Can you imagine having to edit The Wolf of Wall Street for broadcast television? It would sound like one big dial tone! Guess we won't be seeing it on the Christian Movie Channel anytime soon...

But according to Vibe, even though over 500 "f*cks" is pretty impressive, it's still not a record-holder. (And we're not even talking about all the other colorful language in the movie...) The record holder of most "f*cks" ever belongs to a documentary titled -- what else? -- "F*ck," which has 857 instances of the word being said. Nice!
