With the kick off of the Super Bowl XLVIII 2014 just hours away, you might be wondering how to get the game if you don't have a decent television or signal -- or are going to be at work or on the go during most of it. Don't worry, there's now an app for that - as well as an interesting app to voice your opinions about the Super Bowl commercials.

For the first time, a live stream of the entire Super Bowl -- from kickoff to confetti, ads and all -- will be easily accessible without a television set. Also for the first time, Fox Deportes will be airing the game in Spanish as well.

Super Bowl XLVIII -- En Español

For the first time ever, the Super Bowl will be broadcast on live television in both English and Spanish on their own full channels. Fox Deportes is airing the game on Sunday for the first time in Spanish, with three commentators and a sideline reporter.

"It's about time the Spanish-speaking people get to watch a Super Bowl without having to hit the SAP button on the remote," said Fox Deportes broadcaster John Laguna to the Denver Post. "All the Super Bowls have been broadcast [in parts of Latin America], it's surprising it has taken so long ... this should have happened 10 years ago."

The move signifies that Fox and the NFL have woken up to the fact that Latinos are watching NFL football in greater numbers than ever before, as reflected by a Neilsen study that LatinPost previously reported on.

Streaming

Streaming the Super Bowl used to be an illicit affair -- finding pirate streaming sites that were frequently buggy and always illegal was a hassle and diminished enjoyment of the game.

But for the first time ever, those without decent TV signals but with internet can now watch the game on either NFL.com or FoxSportsgo.com. Use a Chromecast to cast the game to your HDTV or connect it with a wire, and you've got yourself a broadcast. The only internet users being blacked out of this Super Bowl live stream are the fans in the actual New Jersey stadium, and those poor, unfortunate souls will have to find a different way to catch the action -- like with their eyes.

Mobile Streaming Apps

Fox Sports Go also is offering a way to stream the Super Bowl for free on the iPad, using their Fox Sports Go app. Unfortunately for Android and iPhone users, legal restrictions are keeping the official mobile streaming app to the iPad only.

Some select iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone users will be able to stream the game as well, using the NFL Mobile app, but unfortunately it's through a deal with Verizon, so only some customers of the wireless network that are subscribed to the app's Premium Features will be able to watch the big game on the go. The premium subscription is only $5 a month though, so if the game is worth that to you, you still have time to sign up.

Other NFL Apps

If you can't stream the game, you can at least keep up with the action with the NFL Mobile app, and the official Super Bowl XLVIII - NFL Official Program app for iOS and Android provides enthusiasts (except for iPhone users) with a 288-page commemorative guide to the 2013-2014 NFL season and the Super Bowl.

Apps for Super Bowl Ads

Watching the Super Bowl commercials during the game have become somewhat of an American tradition, and there are a couple of companion apps to let you watch the ads and comment on them.

First, there's the Superbowl Ads app for iOS and Android that lets you watch the high profile ads before or after the game, as well as commercials from Super Bowls past, and share and comment on them with friends on social media.

Then, there's a more social conscious -- and interesting -- Super Bowl ad companion app: the "Not Buying It" app for iOS. This newly released app (via Forbes) allows users to catalogue and share on social media the most sexist ads that come up during the Super Bowl, letting companies know publically if their ads went over the line.

The name of the app comes from a Twitter campaign from Super Bowl 2013 that grew after Go Daddy ran the unsubtle and famous ad where Bar Refaeli, representing the company's "sexy" side, made out with a chubby, four-eyed nerd, or the "smart side" -- implying that sexy and smart are opposites (and indirectly giving Refaeli quite a backhanded compliment). The app is a project of the Representation Project, after a successful Indiegogo campaign.
