It seems fans of Kiefer Sutherland will not only see him on television in "24: Live Another Day", but in their favorite video games as well.

While talking to IGN about his voice work as Big Boss for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain", Sutherlands hinted about his role in a new "Mortal Kombat" game.

The "24" actor said, "I did Mortal Kombat, and that's such a huge game but it's not like [MGS5]." Although he did not specify his exact role in the game, he mentioned that his work timeframe for MK was shorter as compared to MGSV.

Warner Bros., which is one of the publishers behind the game, has not yet released any comments regarding Sutherland's involvement in the game and new projects from its developer, NetherRealm Studios.

However, video games news website Polygon speculated that the actor might be referring to the same game that "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" producer Lance Sloane teased about in last year's San Diego Comic Con. Sloane said, "We've been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we've got a great script. And we've got a great director with Kevin Tanchareon, who is on board."

Tanchareon is known for directing the 2010 short film "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" and has worked on the web series "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" in 2011. Aside from a possible new "MK" game, a new film adaptation was also mentioned during last year's event.

"Mortal Kombat" was the last "MK" game released by NetherRealm in 2011. It was made for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita platforms. The game follows a re-telling of the story of the first "MK" games with Raiden sending a message to his past self (MK1). The past Raiden must then go through the events of MK1, 2, and 3 with an enlightened vision about the future.
