NFL Schedule & Predictions 2015: 5 Teams Who Must Win Week 5 Games
Just like that, we're already a quarter of the way through this NFL season. Four weeks have been completed, and we have a pretty good idea of just how good each team is so far. Each and every week a few teams will be facing "must win" games given the circumstances.
Here are five teams who must win in Week 5.
1. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts got a much needed win in Week 4 in overtime against the Jacksonville Jaguars to pull back to .500. The Colts were favored by many NFL experts to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year, and they need to get going. Andrew Luck is expected to play against the Houston Texans this Thursday. The Colts dominate their division more than any other team in the league. They have won 15 consecutive games against the AFC South, and a 16th would officially give them a winning record.
The Colts will play the Texans on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8:25 p.m. EDT.
2. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have impressive wins this season over the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins, but have yet to win consecutive games. A home loss to the New York Giants by 14 points is not what Rex Ryan had planned. The Bills have a quality defense, but their offense is hurting. The Bills need Sammy Watkins and LeSean McCoy back now more than ever. If the Bills lose this game, against the Tennessee Titans, and drop to 2-3, they can pretty much kiss the AFC East title away. In Week 6 the Bills will take on the now undefeated Cincinnati Bengals so this game is absolutely critical.
The Bills will play the Titans on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. EDT.
3. Philadelphia Eagles
The wild and crazy season continues in the City of Brotherly Love. Chip Kelly's offense ranks 29th overall in the league, and they aren't staying on the field much at all. Kelly knows he dug his team into a hole by trading away so many great payers, and he's going to have to be the one to get his team out of it. The Eagles will take on the New Orleans Saints in a big matchup at home. If the Eagles lose this game, they will be 1-4. That means they would have to finish the season 8-3 down the stretch to have a winning record of 9-7.
The Eagles will play the Saints on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. EDT.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
This is pretty much it for the Kansas City Chiefs. They suffered the most devastating defeat of the season when they blew a late lead against the Denver Broncos and haven't recovered. The Chiefs won their opening day game against the Houston Texans, but are now on a three game losing streak. In other words, if the Chiefs lose this game, their season is over. Not only are the Denver Broncos 4-0, but the improved Oakland Raiders are 2-2 and a wild card spot isn't looking good. A home game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium is just what the doctor ordered.
The Chiefs will play the Bears on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. EDT.
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens began their season 0-3, but got a huge much needed win in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now 1-3, John Harbaugh's team isn't out of this just yet. The Ravens probably won't be winning the AFC North over the Bengals, but if they can get on a little roll, they can still get a wild card spot. Unfortunately for them, Steve Smith is injured and he will miss their upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns. Don't be surprised of the Ravens are active before the NFL trade deadline.
The Ravens will play the Browns on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. EDT.
