Although Apple has mostly left us in the dark about plans for iOS 8, rumors and leaks have started to float around the web.

Most recently, a Healthbook App slated to be released with the new operating system has been leaked, turning heads all over the web thanks to its advanced technological capabilities that could surpass many related apps we are familiar with today.

What is Healthbook, exactly? According to reports from 9to5Mac, it is expected to be a health-monitoring application that actually tracks parts of your health from bloodwork to heart rate and even blood pressure, sleep, weight, and blood sugar. Although many apps today are very helpful in serving as a complement to other ways of obtaining this information, they not nearly as connected as this one is said to be.

As expected, many reports on the web have presented conflicting rumors and predictions about what these apps will entail or how iOS 8 will actually be, but 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman clarified some points about Healthbook's capabilities.

"While other publications have reported to the contrary, the images clearly show that Apple is working on tracking hydration levels," he explained before discussing alleged Healthbook screenshot images that were leaked. "Also contradicting other reporting, these images do not indicate that Apple is working on tracking stress or pregnancy data points. It is possible that this type of functionality could arrive in the future, but I do not believe Apple is currently developing those capabilities."

What do you think about Healthbook and other apps that could be on their way when the new operating system arrives along with the next iPhone? Plenty more rumors will certainly be floating around in the coming months before Apple follows through with its iOS 8 release, so be sure to check back and check for updates and the latest information.
