Tom Brady Raves GOP Presidential Hopeful Donald Trump Never Loses
Tom Brady proudly insists he and Donald Trump share something in common: winning.
"He just doesn't lose," the four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and New England Patriots star told GQ magazine in a "Men of the Year" cover piece.
Brady and Trump's bromance has been previously documented. Earlier this year, the 2016 Republican presidential hopeful's "Make America Great Again" hat was spotted in Brady's locker stall.
As much as he seems to admire Trump, Brady also strongly indicated he has no desire of following in his footsteps, at least not in the pursuit of political office.
"There is a 0.000 chance of me ever wanting to do that," he said. "I just think that no matter what you'd say or what you'd do, you'd be in a position where -- you know, you're politicking. You know? Like, I think the great part about what I do is that there's a scoreboard. At the end of every week, you know how you did."
Brady showed little interest in addressing the Deflategate controversy, the one story that has overshadowed his 13-year NFL career and that almost ruined his Patriots' currently perfect season before it even had a chance to get started.
"I don't really care how the Patriots are perceived, truthfully," he said. "I really don't. I really don't. Look, if you're a fan of our team, you root for us, you believe in our team, and you believe in what we're trying to accomplish. If you're not a fan of us, you have a different opinion."
According to a recent Florida Atlantic University poll, Trump leads a crowded GOP field in the critical state of Florida with 36 percent of the vote, some 18 points ahead of his closest competitor, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. Ben Carson placed third in the poll with 15 percent.
