Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael was found dead in Utah after he went missing two weeks ago.

The 28-year-old former "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" reality star posted a touching tribute to her brother, whose remains were believed to be found at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday by search crews, according to People.

"My heart is in a million pieces," she wrote. "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."

Michael's body is being transported to the Utah Medical Examiner in order for them to determine the exact cause of death, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. His body was discovered in the Salt Wash area near exit 175 on I-70 in Grand County, which is an area with steep and rocky terrain.

"We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found," Kristin said in a statement to People. "This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."

Before Michael's body was found his sister posted an Instagram photo on Monday of the two when they were younger smiling while sitting on the beach.

"We remain hopeful ... I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support."

Records from the Orange County Sheriff's Department indicate that Michael was arrested on Nov. 23, which was days before he disappeared. He was held in Orange County Jail for a short time and then went missing shortly after. The Utah police had been searching for him since Nov. 27 after they found his 2014 Honda Civic abandoned five miles south of exit 175 on I-70.
