Microsoft Apologizes for Subpar Performance of its Surface Line
When Microsoft introduced the Surface line recently, they made sure that it is the next-gen convertible laptop that will eventually take over Apple's iPads and MacBooks. At the time, Microsoft probably succeeded on convincing MacBook users to jump ship and try the new Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. However, recently, Microsoft conceded to the glitches and issues that marred their presence in the tech market.
In a note released by Microsoft from the Surface Team to their customers, it stated, "For those of you who've had less-than-perfect experience, we're sorry for any frustration this has caused."
The note, which was authored by Josh_F, also acknowledged the participation of their customers in providing feedback regarding the performance of their Surface line. The complaints have given the Surface Team insights on what needs to be updated and fixed. He also added, "We have already issued a number of updates via Windows Update and are working to issue additional updates and fixes as soon as possible to further improve the overall Surface experience." Josh_F also encouraged users to visit the support page in order to get the latest version of the Surface and Windows updates.
According to Business Insider, some of the main problems that started the issues surrounding the Surface line include flickering screens and the inability of the device to go on sleep mode. Nevertheless, that didn't stop the tech giant to dominate the sales of tablets in the third quarter of 2015.
101data reveals that last October has been a whirlwind for the newly released Surface line as it outsold Apple's iPad line. A staggering 45 percent of sales have been recorded under Microsoft and only 17 percent came from Apple with regards to online purchases.
The dominant Microsoft surface line has been highly regarded because of its reasonable price for a combined tablet/PC device. Apparently, the competition on the sales of tablet devices has been the trend as the previous year recorded a staggering amount of $145 million and this year, it has reached to $205 million in revenue.
With Microsoft's Surface line, it is expected that despite its software glitches, more consumers will head on buying the products. The holiday season will also affect the number of units sold for the giant company.
Are you still considering buying the Surface Pro despite the problems reported? What issues have you encountered using the Surface Pro line?
