Celebrities Read Lyrics From Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’
Lyrics from Drake's "Hotline Bling" have now been read by a collection of celebrities in a special video produced by W Magazine.
The celebrities invited to dramatically read the lyrics from the 29-year-old rapper's hit song include Bryan Cranston, Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen, according to Billboard.
In addition other celebrities that contributed to the video are Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Wiig, Brie Larson, Rooney Mara, Paul Dano, Joel Edgerton, Greta Gerwig, Maika Monroe and Saoirse Ronan.
Some of the celebs taking part in the video choose to dramatize the song's lyrics, while others just sing the song. Some of them even dance in their seat while singing the jam.
Since the release of Drake's "Hotline Bling" there has been several parody videos and memes inspired by the song. Several artists, including Justin Bieber, Erykah Badu, Alessia Cara, Mila J, Kiana Brown, Disclosure and Sam Smith, Sufjan Stevens and Keyshia Cole, have also released their own covers of the track.
Drake released "Hotline Bling," which topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and landed on No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, on July 31. The song samples R&B singer Timmy Thomas' 1972 song "Why Can't We Live Together." After the track was released several comparisons were made to D.R.A.M.'s "Cha Cha."
This year was a big one for Drake who released his fourth commercial release, "If You're Reading This It's Too Late," on Feb. 13. This release produced the singles "Preach" and "Energy." He also released the collaborative mixtape, "What a Time to Be Alive," with Future on Sept. 20. This offering produced the single "Jumpman."
Drake's next release will be the heavily anticipated "Views From The 6," which may possibly drop after the new year, according to a mysterious teaser posted on the Daily Rap's Twitter account.
