Rick travels to Los Angeles and teams up on a case with daughter Alexis in the Season 8, Episode 14 return of "Castle" slated for Feb. 1, 2016.

TVLine reports the father-and-daughter duo, played by Nathan Fillion and Molly Quinn, will be joined by Castle's partner Hayley (Toks Olagundoye) as they tackle a mystery that leads them back to the heart of a murder probe for the NYPD.

The website adds before the case is solved, chances are Castle will also be seeking assistance from NYPD wife Kate (Stana Katic).

Several media outlets have also reported the next several episodes are expected to delve into the ongoing mystery of Rick's Season 7 disappearance.

"We haven't nailed the story down for it," executive producer Alexi Hawley recently said of rumors his disappearance will somehow be connected to his wife. "But we do like the idea that something that Castle came across during his missing time is actually why his memory was wiped."

Castle's disappearance was most recently featured last April and centered around a storyline where an old prep school pal escaped from al-Qaida and turned himself into U.S. intelligence but would only speak with Rick.

After the Thailand-based mission was completed, Castle's memories of Bilal and the covert operation he had just been so central in was completely erased from his memory, largely accounting for him being unable to speak to his time away.

Word is producers are now intent on explaining more of his disappearance and his whereabouts, with speculation bubbling that it could lead back to Beckett and the LokSat case she has long been toiling on.

"Castle" returns to the airwaves on ABC in six weeks and also stars Seamus Dever as Kevin Ryan, Jon Huertas, as Javier Esposito, and Tamala Jones as Lanie Parish.
