After the controversial conclusion of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant on Sunday, Dec. 20, at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was hailed as the winner! And while Steve Harvey's announcement mistake went viral, we will delve deeper into the Question and Answer segment of the top 5 candidates as well as that of the top 3. So, who do you think gave the best answer?

The 64th Miss Universe competition explosively ended after host Steve Harvey misread the results. But the Emmy Award-winning host immediately apologized and crowned Miss Philippines as this year's winner. While Harvey's mistake is currently making headlines, let's take a quick look on the interview portion, where the ladies were asked questions that were tailored specifically for each one of them, Rappler reported.

Prior to the announcement of winners, the top five candidates were named among the ladies who made it to the top 10 list. According to Heavy.com, the top 10 semifinalists were Olivia Jordan of USA, Ariadna Gutierrez of Colombia, Ariana Miyamoto of Japan, Aniporn Chalermburanawong of Thailand, Monika Radulovic of Australia, Clarissa Molina of Domican Republic, Flora Coquerel of France, Kanisha Sluis of Curacao, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines and Mariana Jimenez of Venezuela. And USA, Australia, Philippines, Colombia and France were named as the top 5 finalists.

Since the Q&A is the most awkward and dreaded part of the competition, here's a recap of the pageant's interview segment. Who among these women gave the best and the worst answers?

Question for the Philippines: "Do you think the U.S. should have a military base in the country?"

"I think that the US and the PH have a good relationship with each other," Wurtzbach responded. "We've been colonized by the Americans and we have their culture. Philippines is very welcoming with the Americans and I don't see any problem with that at all."

Miss France was asked what she thought is the best way to combat the threat of terrorism following the Paris attacks.

"We have to know where the problems are coming from and listen to the people committing these attacks," Coquerel answered.

For Australia: "Australia is taking first step legalizing marijuana. Do you think that's OK?"

"In certain circumstance, marijuana is beneficial like treating cancer," Radulovic replied. "In that circumstance, yes. But the government should weigh both sides equally."

USA, on the other hand, was asked about gun ownership, which she responded with: "Incredibly difficult issue. It's important that all individuals have the right to protect themselves and feel safe. Sometimes, we need to look at the safety of the whole rather than personal safety. We need better regulations so we need to pay attention."

For Colombia, the question was: "Drug abuse continues to be one of the world's biggest problems. What is the best way to handle this issue?"

"Our homes need to incentivize education for these problems," Gutierrez stated.

After the first round of Q&A, Philippines, USA and Colombia were named as the top three. The ladies were then asked the same question for the final challenge of the competition. And below is the transcript of the Miss Universe 2015 Top 3 Q&A segment.

Question: "Why do you think you deserve to win the Miss Universe crown?"

Miss USA: "I should be the next universe because I'm so driven. I want to work to bring equality towards men and women."

Miss Colombia: "I'm positive that I should be the 3rd Miss Universe from my country because I have attributes of a Latin woman, a woman from Colombia and a Miss Universe."

Miss Philippines: "To be a miss universe is both an honor and responsibility. I will use my voice to influence the youth. I would shed light in causes like HIV. Show the world that I am confidently beautiful with a heart."

After the dramatic turn of events during the pageant's finale, the Miss Universe 2015 crown went to the Philippines while Miss Colombia was the first runner-up and Miss USA was named as the second, while Miss Thailand won the National Costume Award, News.com.au revealed.

As for Harvey's mistake that made the Miss Universe 2015 coronation controversial, the host immediately took to Twitter and issued an apology. The Miss Universe Organization had also issued a public apology through a Facebook post.
