A California man, who appears to be a supporter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, was arrested over the weekend, after police found a bomb in his home that he was allegedly planning to use to hurt Muslims.

Officials say an explosive device was found in the home of 55-year-old William Celli of Richmond, who was arrested and taken into custody at the Contra Costa County jail on Sunday. Police searched his home after they received a tip last Thursday from someone who said that Celli had threatened to attack Muslims in his community.

Police also evacuated Celli's neighborhood to remove the device from his home on the 5100 block of Mcbryde Avenue, KPIX reported. The Walnut Creek bomb squad then detonated the bomb, before neighbors were given permission to return to their homes.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

"We thank law enforcement authorities for their swift action and we will monitor this alleged case of domestic terrorism closely as it moves through the legal system," said Zahra Billoo, executive director of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, according to Talking Points Memo.

Messages that Celli posted on his Facebook page show that he was apparently a big supporter of Trump, who recently called for a block on Muslim immigrants entering the U.S. and an overload of surveillance on Islamic mosques.

In one message, posted on Oct. 21, Celli wrote, "Donald trumps on again I'm happy leaders okay but this guys a great point man I'll follow this MAN to the end of the world."

In another message, dated June 13, 2014, he voiced dismay at Hispanic immigrants and business owners, whom he blamed for his declining sales.

"I'm very unhappy to report we are getting invaded by tens of thoudands [sic] of illegals I have lost 30%of my business to to [sic] Hispanics coming to my country under false pretenses an and freeload in construction or in the blue collar sector," he wrote, adding, "they need to go back home lets not talk about the welfare they suck dry."
