A 52 year old man by the name of Jake Clyde Merendino was found dead after being fatally stabbed along a Mexican highway. As per CNN's report, Merandino was involved in a romantic relationship with the suspect, David Enrique Meza, 25, since 2013.

CNN then added that both Merendino and Meza met online, wherein their romantic relationship flourished. The two eventually got together and took several trips to Mexico. The Texan retiree even gave Meza a motorcycle as a Christmas gift. Though the two shared a romantic relationship, it was reported that Meza was the primary suspect for Merendino's murder.

Last May 2, Merendino's body was found within Mexican highway where in his body acquired multiple stab wounds and his throat was also slashed as per LA Times.

Meza, 25, was charged in federal court last Wednesday after being arrested. His 20 year old girlfriend, Taylor Marie Langston, who is pregnant with their child at the time of their arrest, faced several charges with Meza.

Part of the press release that was posted on the FBI, San Diego Division website stated that both Meza and his partner, Langston will both be facing several charges, in which they had to make a court appearance on December 24, 2015.

The ruling stated, "In the indictment, unsealed today, Meza is charged with one count of Interstate or Foreign Domestic Violence Resulting in Murder; both Meza and Langston are charged with one count of Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice; and Langston is charged with one count of Obstruction of Justice and one count of Making a False Statement to a Federal Officer. They are scheduled to make their first appearances in federal court tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. before U.S. Magistrate Judge William Gallo."

As per Los Angeles Times update, the couple pleaded not guilty for Merendino's murder.

In addition to the details involving Merendino's death, it was reported that Meza was able to produce a handwritten will with the hotel's letter head stating that he will be the sole heir to the Merendino's fortune.

Magistrate Judge William Gallo scheduled a hearing for Meza after his plea. The judge then made an order that Langston be placed in GPS monitoring after being released from custody. She is also set for a $50,000 bond. In addition to her GPS monitoring, Langston is also subjected for a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and she is not allowed to travel outside San Diego County.
