Latin America Sees Strong Growth on Dietary Supplement Business
The dietary supplement business is gaining momentum in Latin America, and with an average five percent increase on sales per annum, the business is expected to continue with an annual growth of 4.3 percent in the coming years.
According to Natural Products Insider, the growth on the sales of dietary supplements is highly associated with the aging population of the region. The rate of higher wages, as well as the people's consciousness on their health, also led to the increased popularity of the dietary supplements in Latin America. The prices of dietary supplements are also expected to increase as the business continues to level up year by year.
In Latin America, the regions of Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela cover almost 85 percent of the market sales. Ecuador and Venezuela have the fastest growing number of dietary supplements sold among the countries. That being said, some of the most popular products sold include calcium supplements, fiber and probiotics.
Countries like Argentina, Colombia and Chile top the regions that significantly use beauty product supplements for skin and nails. In Latin America, vitamins remain to be the number one dietary supplement; however, the obvious presence of such dietary supplements such as herb, omega and probiotics slowly transitioned consumers overtime.
In another report by the NPI, more and more health practitioners lean toward the use of dietary supplements, especially for the aging and senior population. Overall, the Latin America region has listed some of the most popular dietary supplements available and they include antioxidants, combined dietary supplements and herbs -- a traditional dietary supplement commonly used in Ecuador.
The vast coverage of such business has propelled major businesses to extend their market to different establishments. Their sales options include direct selling, social media survey, online selling as well as those recommended by medical practitioners. Home shopping, in the form of catalogs and mail orders, is a popular marketing strategy for the dietary supplement business in Latin America.
Since the business of dietary supplements became a trend in Latin America, more investors have expressed their interest in joining the industry but there are corresponding rules in order to get your market within the region.
Professional consultancy, regulatory provisions, distribution channels and partners are just a few things that investors need to consider before they can start their market. Based on the years starting 2012 to 2017, the market of dietary supplement is seen to have grown by 25 percent.
