‘Supernatural’ Season 11 News: Bobby Singer and Rufus to Return
There are many ways that the dead keep coming back to life on The CW's "Supernatural." But now it seems that every season will in one way or another feature everyone's favorite dead character, Bobby Singer.
According to TV Line, who got some exclusive details from executive producer Jeremy Carver, the fan favorite character Singer (Jim Beaver) will be featured in Episode 16.
But Singer is not the only character coming back to the show. His hunter friend Rufus (Steven Williams) will also be joining Singer from the other side back on the show.
There have been many ways that the show has been able to pull off this type of reappearance every season. They have featured Singer in certain supernatural ways, like showing him in hell, in heaven, as a ghost, and others.
This year, the show has optioned for a time travel episode, or at least in the sense that they will be doing flashbacks to a point in the series where Singer and Rufus worked a case to together, which would date back to around the start date of the series back in 2005.
"[Dean and Sam Winchester] are going to be investigating an old case that was once investigated by Bobby and Rufus," Carver said.
"There's a lot of great throwbacks to things that happened," Carver said, which includes "the wonderful relationship between Bobby and Rufus. That's going to be a really neat episode."
Fans of the show know exactly what he is talking about. This is not necessarily going to be old footage from a previous show but rather a time shift where the currently running storylines will mesh up with old ones.
The case that Dean and Sam are investigating in the episode will in some way relate to the case Singer and Rufus worked 11 years prior. The Winchesters will have to make sense of what they did and how they resolved it, which will throw the episode into flashbacks for continuity purposes.
