In a special segment on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Tuesday night, the late night host spoofed a faux cameo on "The X-Files" with actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

According to Deadline, Kimmel is a big fan of the original series, and he is very excited to see that it is coming back. With that in mind, he was invited to do a special spoof segment on the set of the show, which featured him as a fellow agent.

The segment started out with Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully (Anderson) coming down the stairs into a basement with flashlights. They found what appeared to be evidence of an alien cover up with a specimen in a jar, seemingly dead.

Kimmel comes into the picture, and they both seemed to be scared of him at first. Then he turns the light on and reveals himself as an FBI agent as well. Scully says that she has to call Skinner, and she pulls out her "stone-age" era cell phone from the '90s, which Kimmel quickly shows her is out of date.

Mulder then grabs Kimmel's iPhone and smashes it against the wall, saying that he did not want them tracked.

Scully continues the joke about old technology with the idea to contact Skinner over the computer. She pulls the cover off an old computer and goes online with the old AOL dial up connection. Of course, it takes a while for them to connect, and they comically wait around while the weird sounds of the connection buzz in their ears.

Kimmel then explains to them that the things they used in the '90s are no longer used, and that they should let go of the past. But he urges one exception: They should realize their longtime passion for one another and have sex.

Mulder and Scully pretend like they are oblivious to the idea, but quickly embrace romantically.
