Sarah Palin 'Proud' to Endorse Donald Trump for US President
Sarah Palin announced her endorsement for the coming U.S. presidential election goes to Donald Trump. The former Alaska governor made the official announcement during his political campaign at the Iowa State University on Tuesday.
Palin stood beside Trump on the stage as she made her campaign speech for the U.S. presidential hopeful in her cheery and lively voice. She rallied for Trump as she spoke about why the businessman-turned-politician deserves to be the next president.
"Are you ready for a commander-in-chief who will let our lawyers do their job and go kick ISIS a**? Are you ready for someone to secure our borders, to secure our jobs and to secure our homes. Are you ready to make America great again," Palin is heard asking the crowd, who cheered for her in response. Meanwhile, Trump stood by her side with a satisfied and proud grin on his face.
Palin had also declared that she is "proud" to endorse Trump as the next U.S. president. Her endorsement is said to likely give a powerful boost to the number of Trump's supporters. She is expected to continue with her campaign for the politician in the next 13 days nearing the start of the Iowa caucus on Feb. 1.
It's still uncertain if Palin backing Trump in the U.S. presidential elections will give a significant boost to his campaign. However, The New York Daily News shared that Palin has many supporters in Iowa from the many political connections she's developed with the state over the past years.
As a matter of fact, Craig Robinson, a former political director for the Republican Party of Iowa, said Palin has connections with the Tea Party activists. So, her campaign could potentially draw voters for Trump.
"Endorsements alone don't guarantee victory, but Palin's embrace of Trump may turn the fight over the evangelical vote into a war for the soul of the party," he said.
Trump has been campaigning in Iowa over the past days. He has been making most of the time left until the U.S. presidential elections to speak to the Iowans and encourage their votes.
He was recently spotted dropping by for a bite to eat at the famous Red Arrow Diner last week Tuesday, following another campaign in the state. However, his meal was interrupted when a woman from the diner called him a "racist."
