What made the town special is the gigantic image of Jesus, standing in the heart of the village.  The mountain town's climate is slightly cooler than its neighboring cities, giving it a laid back vibe.

The town offers a variety of outdoor activities such as river rafting in the Yaque del Norte River or going on a trek in El Mogote which is known as the highest point in Jarabacoa.

Puerto Plata

Often called as the "Silver Port," Puerto Plata offers a beautiful scenic view of the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The entire city is filled with colorful Victorian architecture that compliments the shoreline vibe. There are several galleries and numerous restaurants that offer local delicacies.
