Premio Lo Nuestro 2016 News: Sin Bandera Reunion, Hosts & More Performers Announced
Univision has announced the second batch of performers and hosts for the 2016 Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony, which will honor the biggest stars of 2015.
According to the official Premio Lo Nuestro website, musical duo Sin Bandera, made up of Leonel García and Noel Schajris, who rose to stardom in the early 2000s for their ballads, have been confirmed to be taking the stage for the first time since 2007.
The duo announced their reunion in November 2015 and on Jan. 8 they released their first single in years, called “En ésta No.”
Along with Thalía, Prince Royce, Maluma and Yandel, several other big names have been confirmed to take the stage.
Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Gloria Trevi, Calibre 50, Wisin, Chino y Nacho, Farruko, Zion & Lennox, Luis Coronel, Chiquis Rivera, Jesse y Joy, Los Recoditos and "La Banda" winners CNCO have all been confirmed to perform.
Carlos Vives, who will be receiving the Award for Excellence at this year's ceremony, has also been added to the list of performers.
According to People En Español, actors Arath de la Torre and Galilea Montijo will share hosting duties for the night. Montijo hosted the award show last year with actor Cristian de la Fuente as her co-host.
This year's most nominated stars are tropical music artists Romeo Santos and Juan Luis Guerra.
Santos is up for seven nominations, including Artist of the Year, Tropical Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Song of The Year.
Guerra has six nominations, which includes Album of the Year, Tropical Album of the Year, Tropical Artist of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year.
Other major nominees include Nicky Jam, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, J Balvin, Luis Coronel, Juanes, Juan Gabriel, Alejandro Sanz, Camila, Jesse & Joy, Chino y Nacho and more.
“Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” will air live from the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Thursday, Feb. 18.
