Gina Rodriguez Highlights Co-Stars and Other Latinas Currently on Television
For her fourth "Movement Mondays" post, actress Gina Rodriguez decided to highlight not one but six Latinas who are all currently on popular television shows airing on Monday nights.
On Feb. 15, the star posted a collage of six Latinas currently starring on television shows included her "Jane the Virgin" co-stars Andrea Navedo and Ivonne Coll, who play her mother and grandmother on the popular CW comedy. Also featured in Rodriguez's collage are America Ferrera, who stars in NBC's "Superstore," along with Eva Longoria, Diana-Maria Riva and Jadyn Douglas, who are all currently starring on "Telenovela."
"In one night you can see 6 Latinas doing it up and making our community proud...Today, being the day after Valentine's Day, I thought I'd celebrate this wonderful day with wonderful women who make us laugh and cry every week!" Rodriguez captioned the post.
Rodriguez made sure to acknowledge the men who also star on those shows, including Jaime Camil, Amaury Nolasco, JenCarlos Canela, Jose Moreno Brooks. However, the "Jane the Virgin" star explained she wanted to focus on the women of television this week.

"It's such an incredible time of Diversity, or rather what the real world looks like, in Television," Rodriguez wrote, before encouraging fans to follow in her footsteps. "Highlight and champion an artist in your community to continue to uplift and empower those around you! #MovementMondays."
In her past "Movement Mondays" posts, Rodriguez highlighted fellow actors Oscar Isaac and Rosa Salazar. She also featured director Robert Rodriguez for his effort to open doors for Latinos in film and television and to prepare them for Hollywood.
