"The Bachelor" Ben Higgins made his final pick during the season 20 finale. The 27-year-old software salesman chose Lauren Bushnell. It wasn't an easy decision after he told the last two ladies standing that he fell for them both. But in the end, it all boiled down to whom he was in love with more.

During After The Final Rose, there was a proposition from the show's 44-year-old host Chris Harrison for the newly-engaged couple to tie the knot live and on the spot. But, the couple turned down the offer.

Bushnell Justifies Decision to Postpone Wedding

The 25-year-old "The Bachelor" winner shared that she was caught off guard by the turn of events. She said that as much as she is open to marrying Higgins any day, she wanted to do it in the proper way. She wants the celebration to be witnessed by her friends and loved ones.

"I was completely surprised. I did not expect that at all," said Bushnell. "First of all, I want to go on a date with Ben. There's so many things to do with him before actually saying 'I do.' I want to try on dresses, I want to do some of the more traditional things."

She also admitted that she wanted a grander wedding ceremony, although she also thought that the idea of doing it impromptu was "tempting." "For me, as much as I want to marry Ben tomorrow, I would also like a big celebration planned with my family, with my friends. So I don't think I really thought too much into it, although it was kind of tempting," Bushnell added.

Will the Wedding be Televised?

While there are no concrete details for the wedding as of yet, the couple shared that they have already started talking about it. "We talked this morning on the plane, I would love to do 2016, early 2017," said Higgins. "I don't want to rush is to the point where it's stressful, but I also don't want to wait too long."

As for his fiancée, Bushnell said that she is already excited about starting the planning stage of the whole wedding event like setting the exact date.

When asked if they would be willing to have the wedding televised on ABC, Higgins said that they are open to the possibility. He added that they'll look into the opportunity and see if it would be the best for them and for their supporters who have witnessed their love story unfold on TV.
