Joe Giudice Reportedly Somber Over Upcoming Prison Stay; Spotted with Wife Teresa Giudice, 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Cast at Event
Teresa Giudice and husband Joe recently spent a night out on the town, one of the last chances the two will have to do so before he is scheduled to turn himself in to begin serving a 41-month sentence on bank fraud related charges.
The reality TV couple stepped out to attend an autism fundraiser thrown in nearby Saddle Brook by "Real Housewives of New Jersey" costars Robyn Levy and Christina Flores.
Try as he might to put on a happy face, onlookers described Joe as being in a pensive and almost somber mood.
"Teresa and Joe showed up together," said a source. "But Teresa seemed more into the event than Joe."
Joe not Himself at Fundraising Event
The source later added, "Joe, who is usually lively and gregarious, seemed totally unlike his regular, jovial self. He was out of sorts, quiet and didn't seem to be mentally present."
While his wife mingled with sister-in-law Melissa Gorga at her side, sources added Joe slipped away before settling in a VIP booth reserved for "RHONJ" cast members.
"While he was sitting there, it seemed like he was alone with his thoughts," a source added. "It looked like he was worried and appeared very somber, even though everyone else was having a fabulous time."
With Teresa having already served out the terms of her 15 month sentence on similar charges, Joe is now scheduled to turn himself in to serve his own sentence. Whenever he is released, he could also face deportation proceedings back to his native Italy.
Word is for much of the night, Joe even refrained from drinking, a habit he has previously indicated he hopes his time in prison will help him curtail.
"I didn't seem him drinking anything all night," a source added. "You could tell that Joe seemed worried about something. He wasn't concentrating on anything going on around him and had a gloomy look on his face."
