Jennifer Lopez Regrets Failed Marc Anthony Relationship, Talks Ben Affleck In Latest Interview
Jennifer Lopez still considers her failed marriage to Marc Anthony "the biggest failure of her life."
While the two have 8-year-old twins to always fondly recall their time together, the 46-year-old "Jenny From the Block" singer also laments in a Jess Cagle interview, "I think both Marc and I thought at the time we would be together for the next 40 years until we die."
She added of their breakup, "It was devastating and awful."
Still, the "American Idol" judge and "Shades of Blue" star adds it was the right thing for her.
No Regrets for Lopez
"I felt like at that time I had lost my way a little bit, of who I was in trying to make the marriage [work]," she added. "I had been married twice before and I didn't want this to be a failure ... I just put all my heart and soul into that and forgot who I was as an individual a little bit."
In that same interview, Lopez also reflects on her failed high-profile relationship with Academy Award winning actor Ben Affleck.
"We didn't try to have a public relationship," she added of the couple that came to be known as Bennifer. "We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like 'Oh my God.' It was just a lot of pressure."
Lopez added the first time she met Affleck, "I felt like... 'Okay, this is it.' But sometimes I feel like what you think people are and how you see them when you love them is different than when they reveal later."
JLo's Leading Men
Lopez has also had relationships with the likes of Sean "Diddy" Combs and dancer Chris Judd. She recently shared she's now convinced most of her well-known exes were all wrong for her.
"When you get to a certain age, you realize everything you need and want is within you and the happiness you are seeking in others is within yourself. I think that's what's changed for me."
