Johnny Manziel's Friends and Family Worried 'He Could die' as Alleged Drugs, Downward Spiral Continues
Family members and friends of NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel fear for his well-being as reports of his rampant drinking and drug use continue to swell.
Word is the out-of-work signal-caller has become so reckless with his drug use he now readily takes hits in the company of people he barely knows.
Manziel Could be in Denial
"He's in a horrible downward spiral," one source described as close to the former Heisman Trophy winner recently shared. Reports are several close friends have tried to intervene, even sitting him down and "confronting" him about his situation, but none of it has had much of an impact.
"He flipped out and would not hear it," a source added.
Things have gotten so bad Manziel has reportedly been banned from several Las Vegas hotspots in the wake of a recent violent outburst at JEWEL nightclub at the Aria.
"He's too much of a risk," said another source described as a high-powered nightclub person. "He's a good guy, but he's a f***ing mess."
Manziel Still Hoping for NFL Return
Through it all, Manziel reportedly still harbors dreams of making it back to the NFL, though no one has seen him in training and he recently brushed aside queries on the subject.
"If he continues this way for much longer he will die," said a source, alluding to Manziel recently being spotted partying in such places as Vegas, L.A., Miami, Coachella and Dallas.
Even Manziel's own father recently expressed grave concern for him, lamenting if he doesn't get help, "he won't live to see his 24th birthday."
Manziel was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2014 draft, but was cut by the team after last season following a number of questionable situations that included him being captured on video partying during the team's bye week.
