Demi Lovato Mourns Death of Great-Grandmother on Instagram
Pop singer and actress Demi Lovato is in mourning once again following the death of her beloved great-grandmother on Sunday, May 29.
Lovato revealed the news to her fans on social media with a photo of her and her great-grandmother, who she called Mimaw, in bed together.
The "Confident" singer expressed her sorrow with a long and emotional tribute on Instagram.
"This morning I lost my world and the world's most special woman. I miss her more than words can even describe. There is an emptiness in my heart that only her spirit can fill and I pray that I will feel her by my side every single day until we meet again...," she captioned the photo. "She was my great-grandmother but we were so close that I never knew it was possible that anyone could have the bond that we shared even 70 years a part. The pain I feel is almost unbearable but because of her strength I will power through it."
The singer also used the opportunity to thank her fans, who showed their support on the star's various social media accounts following the news. "The love and support I have received has been empowering and so special to me.. I love all of you so much and I am forever grateful for the prayers, texts and fan art my Lovatics have made me. Thank you," Lovato wrote. She followed that post with a black and white photo collage of moments with her great-grandmother.
Lovato and her family have faced several deaths in the family in the last year alone.
Back in October, the singer lost her great-grandfather, who was married to great-grandmother for 53 years, just months after losing her dog Buddy in an accident.
She and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama later mourned the death of close family friend Chris Carney, husband of actress Tiffany Thornton, who was Lovato's costar on the Disney Channel series "Sonny with a Chance," followed by the passing of another of their dogs in December.
In February. the singer revealed the loss of her uncle.
