Theories have been circulated about Rey's identity in the new "Star Wars movies" and yet another one seems to support an age-old theory.

A Star Wars History Lesson

According to Stormtrooper Larry, who has been closely following the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VIII," Rey gets a history lesson from Luke about the origins of the force. He notes that a boy and girl grew up near a mythical tree that made them both powerful. But the boy grew angry and during an argument, he killed the girl.

His guilt drove him to murder his family and left the planet. The girl eventually realized she was one with the tree, came back to life and the Jedi Order was seemingly born out of her miracle.

The myth states that she is the true Chosen one and that the Jedi spent millennia seeking her reincarnation. The leak notes that Anakin Skywalker was mistakenly seen as the chosen one.

The story seems to imply that Rey is the true chosen one of the myth and that only she can set balance to the force. There have been many that have previously theorized about this possibility of Rey being another reincarnation of the chosen one, also revealing how she was so powerful in "The Force Awakens."

While the initial post seems to imply that Luke cannot be her father, follow ups on the report indicate that there is still a chance that the legendary Skywalker still fathered Rey in some way.

This theory links the prequels to the sequels

What is most interesting about this story is that it seems to reverse the prequel trilogy, implying that the prophesy was always wrong and that Anakin was not the true chosen one of the story.

Of course the mere mention and development of said prophesy in this film also shows a willingness to bridge the gap between the three trilogies, something that Disney and Lucasfilm have not been overt about supporting.

Yoda is back?

One final tidbit about the leak is that Yoda is included in a screenshot posted by Stormtrooper Larry, seemingly confirming the return of the legendary Jedi.

What do you think about this theory? Does it kill Anakin's legacy? Does it mean that Luke can't be Rey's father?
