USA vs. Argentina Copa America 2016 Live Stream, Preview, Predictions As Teams Meet in Semifinal
The United States and Argentina face off in the semifinals on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
The Americans have accomplished the goal that coach Jurgen Klinsmann set out initially. He called for a semifinals berth and has achieved just that as his team has stormed back from a 2-0 loss to Colombia on the opening day of the tournament. That defeat was the team's low point and now a distant memory as the Americans have gone three games looking like a dominant side on a mission scoring seven goals in three games.
But they face a huge challenge in Argentina, a team that has utterly dominated the opposition through four games. Argentina has scored 13 goals in four games and has played in most of the tournament without superstar Lionel Messi. La Pulga has four goals and two assists thus far while the rest of his team has looked equally effective in destroying competition left and right.
Argentina player to watch
Who else? Lionel Messi has been dominant in this tournament every time he has been on the pitch. He has four goals and two assists to his name and simply looks like a man on a mission to etch a Championship on his international legacy.
U.S. player to watch
If not for Messi, Clint Dempsey would be the man of the tournament thus far, willing the U.S. to the semifinals. He had two goals and two assists in the group stage and added a goal and assist in the semifinal against Ecuador. If anyone if going to help the U.S. overcome Argentina, it will be Dempsey.
History says...
Argentina has defeated the Americans five times and has only lost two games. The two most recent games between these sides have ended in draw however.
Prediction
Argentina manages a big 4-0 win over the U.S.
