Apple iOS 10.1 latest update released, new portrait feature
Apple released iOS 10.1 with its first major update; the operating system is available for free to all iOS 10 users. Being the third update for iOS 10 it introduced a new "portrait mode". It can be installed by connecting the device to apple iTunes.
The update is available for devices like iPhone 5 and after, it also includes the iPad 4th generation and iPad touch 6th generation and after. The portrait mode is added to the iPhone 7 plus in order to make the most of the dual cameras.
The features of the portrait mode helps to enable an in depth effect by creating blurred background effects as stated on Forbes. It helps to utilize the telephoto lenses in an effective manner. This particular effect is known as the "bokeh". Earlier these effects were notably used on DSLR cameras and now apple has brought the experience to the iPhone.
Apple will continue to make changes to the feature based on the feedback, to get the best of the effect there must be proper lighting when the image is captured. The "bokeh" effect is said to work well while capturing people, objects and pets as per Macrumors.
The feature enables the captured subject to be sharp and outstanding from the background. Another plus with the update is the long list of bug fixes, it is also said to address certain problems that were not included with iOS 10. Together with this for the first time it brings transit directions to Japan.
It will also help on fixing paring issues and improve Bluetooth connectivity with third party accessories. The sharing websites performance will also be improved from Safari to messages. The user experience is believed to be better than any of the other operating systems. Earlier apples's iOS 10 was said to be the best it looks like the new update will surely take over.
