'Passion of Christ' sequel is brewing up titled “Resurrection”
The Passion of Christ sequel is one of the most anticipated films, though the film is still in the making process, fans of Mel Gibson are eager to get a glimpse of what the film is all about.
The "Braveheart" star had revealed the title of his sequel "Passion of Christ", and the film will be titled "Resurrection". Gibson stated that it is not going to be something replicating that particular time or event, which could be boring as everyone knows about it. Hence, the film will be about experiencing other things that happened around that period of time.
It surely does require a deep research for films like these, but it seems that Gibson is already up to the task, as he will be working with Braveheart screen writer "Randall Wallace" for the upcoming sequel.
The Passion of Christ story was about the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus and was released in 2004 as stated in Hollywood Reporter. It earned $612 million dollars wordwide with the project cost of $30 million.
According to The Guardian, the topic was a specialism of Wallace since he studied religion at Duke University. The Evangelical community considers the "Passion of Christ" to be the biggest film ever out of Hollywood. As for everybody's hope the sequel is expected to be a massive success.
The casting of "Resurrection" is not revealed yet, there might be chances that Jim Caviezel will play the role of Jesus again. Wallace has been Oscar nominated for the script of "Braveheart", the two have collaborated for many other films together. It appears that Gibson and Wallace have a chemistry of making good films with their experience.
The last Resurrection film was titled "Risen" and it told the story in a different perspective. Gibson is going to bring out a new experience that was probably not witnessed or known, it is certain that work is in process and the "Resurrection" is not any anticipated film. Its expectations are high because of Gibson's success in the "Passion of Christ" and because of Gibson himself.
