YouTube launched new kid’s app in India with parent control
Technology has developed fast that these days even kids want to access the internet and YouTube, Google has made it easier for parents by launching the new YouTube kid's application in India. Parents can now relax and not worry about their children viewing inappropriate content.
The app is free and downloadable in India from Google Play and the App store, the content available can undergo optimization for kids. With an additional feature, the app supports voice search that enables children to find videos they cannot spell or type as reported on NDTV.
The YouTube kid's app in India will have access to Indian content like little Krishna videos and shows from channels like ChuChu TV and kids TV, the application launched in India is designed considering parents and kids.
Kids will have access to browse four channels and playlists with categories like Music, Shows, Learning, and Explore. It is more of a learning experience. According to The Indian Express, the YouTube Kids app will contain Parental Control features, which allows parents to control the search settings.
The app will have a timer to decide the screen time with a sounding alert, and it will have a Pass-code and restriction control feature. Further, the YouTube Kids app will also have guest-curated playlists from educators and celebrities.
The app is accustomed specially for children it consists of bold icons and larger images making is easy for small thumbs to navigate through content. In addition, the YouTube kid's app will have child videos already available like Exam fever videos, Galli Galli Sim Sim, Little Baby Gum and many more.
Google keeps track of the videos available to kids and they give options to parents to flag any content they feel in inappropriate on the platform. The YouTube kids app in presently available in more than 20 countries and has more than 10 million downloads until now.
