Madden 15 will be the 26th iteration of the most popular football video game franchise. As the official video game of the National Football League, the Madden series offers gamers unprecedented realism. You can truly be an armchair quarterback and set up screens, juke the heck out of your defender and deliver bone shattering hits.

As in prior Madden releases, Madden 15 is allowing fans of the game to vote for their favorite cover athlete. You'll need to go to ESPN to vote (because really who else would have the authority to run this vote?) and be sure to choose wisely. Set up like a mini-NCAA playoff bracket, the voting will give you 16 players to choose from; they are seeded from one to eight.

The seeding breakdown goes as follows:

#1 seed - Richard Sherman, Cornerback, Seattle Seahawks

Fellow #1 seed - Cam Newton, Quarterback, Carolina Panthers

#2 seed - Colin Kaepernick, Quarterback, San Francisco 49ers

Fellow #2 seed - Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts

#3 seed - Demaryius Thomas, Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos

Fellow #3 seed - LeSean McCoy, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles

#4 seed - Jimmy Graham, Tight End, New Orleans Saints

Fellow #4 seed - Jamaal Charles, Running Back, Kansas City Chiefs

#5 seed - Eddie Lacy, Running Back, Green Bay Packers

Fellow #5 seed - A.J. Green, Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals

#6 seed - Luke Kuechly, Linebacker, Carlina Panthers

Fellow #6 seed - T.Y. Hilton, Wide Receiver/Punt Returner, Indianapolis Colts

#7 seed - Nick Foles, Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles

Fellow #7 seed - Alfred Morris, Running Back, Washington Redskins

#8 seed - Alshon Jeffery, Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears

Fellow #8 seed - Antonio Brown, Wide Receiver/Punt Returner, Pittsburgh Steelers

Richard Sherman, the self-proclaimed best cornerback in the league, is a talented ballhawk, no doubt. But his ego will likely grow tenfold if he wins the fan vote, so please do not let that happen.

And while he's seeded way back at No. 7, Nick Foles seems to have as good a chance as any player on this list at making a deep run. After all, Foles had a blistering run of success last season, seemingly making 1 million throws before getting picked off by the Detroit Lions.

It should be noted though: Where is the love for the defenders? Defensive POTY Luke Kuechly is a great player, but surely others were worthy of being considered for this curse/honor with him.
