Toronto Raptors' DeMar DeRozan wants to be remembered as the greatest in franchise's history
This Thanksgiving, DeMar DeRozan and his other eight American teammates will get to enjoy their turkey in the United States. Thanks to their day off, they will be in Milwaukee. For the Raptors, Thanksgiving comes twice a year as it always has been celebrated on October 10 in Canada.
RealGM reported that DeMar DeRozan wants to be known as the greatest Raptor in franchise history. Upon questioning, he said:"Without a doubt, No question." Regardless of his experience and the ups and downs, he has always been loyal. Once upon a time Toronto was a team most players would see at the bottom because stars could come on and off whenever they liked. But, DeMar this time helped rebrand the Raptor's franchise. He dedicates himself towards the Raptors, and hopefully, he gets the name he wants.
DeMar told The Undefeated, "Thanksgiving on the road is not as much fun, but being away is part of the job. We'll have a team dinner and celebrate with my teammates. I get to celebrate twice."
Many fans are glad that he is back with the Raptors, and turned down many other contracts and agreed to sign the USD 145 million contract extension to stay in Toronto. Though he was born in LA, and have been a huge fan of Lakers with Kobe being one of his favorite. But, as Kobe made his mark with the Lakers, he wants to make a mark too in Toronto.
DeMar is one of the highest paid Raptors in NBA history and he looking for a bigger future for his career. During the Olympics, he played in the gold medal game, and he sacrificed a lot.
Hopefully DeMar is staying in this time, make the team proud and make a name for himself. The Raptor fans are excited to see him play and to have him back in Toronto.
