Battlefield 1: EA’s Another Historical Battle on December Update [video]
Battlefield 1 will be receiving another update this December. One of the exciting features would be a new map, along with an adaptation of another historical World War battle the game is known for.
iTech Post reports that the upcoming update, which will be made available for all platforms (Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC), will include the "Giant's Shadow" map. In it, players would be able to re-enact the "Battle of the Selle," another memorable skirmish during the First World War. Fought during the last hundred days of WW1, it saw the German force clash hold their ground near the Selle River (hence the name), but were successfully repelled by the Allied forces.
Aside from the new map, the update will address some of the bugs the game is experiencing in spades. Some of the tweaks will focus on the User Interface and the customization options, as well as some updates to make Battlefield 1 more compatible to the PS4 Pro.
According to The Bit Bag, additional modifications include an improved medal and battle pack reward system, wherein players who reach the post-match reward screen will get additional bonus scraps. More game options and custom servers will be added as part of the update, along with the game's weapons, vehicles, and gadgets, upon its arrival on December 13.
One of the new modes will favor those who specialize in using the Scout or Medic classes. A variant of the staple "Rush" mode, the new "Line of Sight" mode will have Scouts deal double damage, which means Medics need to up their game in order to keep the team alive and kicking.
Released in October 2016 by EA DICE, Battlefield 1 is the fifth iteration of the Battlefield series. Focusing on teamwork, this first-person shooter is set during the events of World War 1. Players are able to use an array of weapons from the era, both ranged and melee and can control various vehicles, from tanks, planes, and horses.
