Bringing the Necromancer class to Diablo 3 is the main focus of Blizzard Entertainment. The developers are so focused, in fact, that Diablo 4 is placed on the back burner.

The upcoming expansion, Rise of the Necromancers, will see the return of the Necromancer class, which was first seen on Diablo 2. The expansion, scheduled for 2017, will give player 2 more character slots, a pennant, banners and banner sigils, and a portrait frame along with the new character. PC players will also have access to additional stash tabs, according to Movie News Guide.

As for the Necromancer itself, the character class will feature several abilities it is known for, like Bone Spear, Summon Skeletons and Blood Rush, among others. iTech Post also adds that new equipment will be added in the game to accommodate this new character.

To access this DLC (Downloadable Content), PC players need to have the Reaper of Souls expansion pack. Console users, on the other hand, need the Ultimate Evil edition to play the seventh class to join the game.

Regarding the development of the fourth Diablo game, no additional information is released by Blizzard, who is also responsible for the Warcraft and Overwatch games. No details were given as well during the recent BlizzCon 2016 event. It is noted, though, that the company is receiving much praise with Diablo 3, which may mean that there is still no need for the fourth game. It took 12 years for Diablo 3, released in 2012, to follow Diablo 2, which came out on 2000.

Introduced in the original Diablo 2, the Necromancer was one of the first five character classes the player can choose from, along with the Paladin, Barbarian, Amazon and Sorceress. Not known for its physical prowess, the pale-skinned, white-haired spell caster relies on certain spells and animating inanimate objects, like skeletons and golems, to deal with the forces of the underworld and stop the titular demon's rule.
