Taylor Swift, Zayn Malik Shocked Fans in a Duet for 'Fifty Shades Darker' Soundtrack
Combined fan bases of Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik were shocked when they found out that their pop idols' have collaborated for a "Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack. "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" came out on iTunes in the US a few minutes before midnight Friday ET. Fans described the duet between Taylor and Zayn as passionate.
The Guardian was one of the first to report the release of the new "Fifty Shades Darker" single and said that the song quickly went #1 in just an hour after it was released. Swift commented "Well that escalated quickly" via her Instagram account.
Aside from commenting through Instagram, Taylor also shared the wonderful news through Twitter where she has 82.2 million followers. She simply commented: "Z | T | 50." This was retweeted more than 15,000 an hour. Zayn on the other hand remained quiet about "I Don't Want To Live Forever" and just let his fans do all the comment for him. A fan even credited his girlfriend Gigi Hadid for this unexpected collaboration. Hadid is also a member of Taylor's squad.
People mentioned that "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" was written by Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew. Antonoff actually worked with Taylor before on tracks on her "1989" album. He took to his Twitter account the release of the song and said that they worked on the song in just a week.
This song is Taylor Swift's first song released this year. She has stayed out of the spotlight for months and performed only at the Formula One United States Grand Prix in Texas. But despite her absence in the music scene, the "Shake It Off" singer remained as the highest paid performer/musician in 2016.
After Zayn Malik left One Direction, he released "Mind of Mine" his debut album. His autobiography is out as well.
"I Don't Wanna Live Forever" is available at US iTunes for $1.29. there are no news yet when the song will be available in other territories.
