Westworld Season 2 Update: Control and Apprehension as main themes; Theories about Ford’s return
Westworld may have captivated lots of hearts since its premier this 2016 especially with those AI and a future theme park involving guns and women. However, after 10 mind bungling episodes, the first season is over but it was great. Now, many are thinking on what should be expect on the second season and the show runners confirmed that the theme is on control and apprehension of the robots. Meanwhile, another source provides details on how Anthony Hopkins' character.
According to Spoilers Guide, the second season will feature control and apprehension on part of the robots since Dolores and Maeve have already introduced these. In an interview with Jonathan Nolan, creator of the series, he elaborated the scenes with Maeve in which it was already detailed by Bernard but still, she chose to not aboard the train and stay to find her daughter which is really a choice.
Further, regarding with Dolores, it is known that Dolores killed Arnold prior to the opening of the park since it was an order. However, in the latter part of the 10th episode, Dolores, from guilt and emotions, had chosen to assassinate Ford.
Nolan said that "And that's when you get into some really fun, heady stuff about control vs. apprehension, and knowing what your creation is going to do versus dictating it. That's basically what we want to explore in the second season."
Meanwhile, iDigital Times wrote some possible ways on how Ford can return. One of which is that the assassinated Ford was host and not the real one. Another is an attempt to resurrect Ford just like how Arnold was turned to Bernard against his will. This could be done but the show didn't reveal anyone who could do such thing. But, one thing is certain, as Nolan said when asked if Ford is dead, "Oh, he's dead."
Stay tune for more updates on the second season of Westworld. Westworld season 2 is expected to return on 2018.
