Nintendo Switch Specs, Release & Update: This is How Switch Will Beat PlayStation 4 [DETAILS]
Leaked reports say that the Nintendo Switch won't be as powerful as Sony's PlayStation 4. The highly anticipated hybrid console from Nintendo reportedly has lower specs than that of the PS4 but it seems that the Switch has some features that fans will still enjoy.
Nintendo Switch Specs
The Nintendo Switch apparently has outdated hardware that can't compete with Sony's PlayStation 4. According to Venture Beat, the Swtich's Nvidia Tegra processor is older than the latest Pascal processor which means that the hybrid console may not be able to support 4K gaming which Sony has been marketing as the newest feature for their consoles. This comes as no surprise as Nintendo has been working on the Switch for years before the Pascal was out in the market.
The Nintendo Switch may not be as powerful as the PS4 but players can still play Nintendo games on it with ease. The edge of Nintendo gaming has not been banked on cutting-edge technology which is why the appeal of 4K gaming was not so emphasized. Furthermore, if Nintendo were to switch to Pascal-based chips it would cause inevitable delay to the Switch as it already is.
The hybrid capability of the Nintendo Switch is appealing to gamers on the go. It has been reported that the Switch is a multiplatform gaming system and console in one which means that players are still able to continue playing their game even when they are on the road somewhere because of the detachable console that is independent of the gaming system.
Nintendo Switch News & Update
According to GameRant, the specs of the Nintendo Switch are similar to the Xbox One which still delivers great gaming performance despite the absence of 4K support. The Switch is aimed to be released by March 2017 and Nintendo will reveal more about the hybrid console including the price during their big event on January 13, 2017.
