Rumors that One Direction will star in a new comedy TV series will surely drive their fans wild and give stiff competition to all other TV shows.

Several comedy scriptwriters were already listed to be part of the TV series' writing team, but no official announcements have been made as of yet.

The source continued to say that the task of writing the script for the TV series was entrusted to comedy screenplay writers in order to allow One Direction to stand out. It will also be a great venue to advertise the songs of the band. Other performers will also be invited to do cameo roles.

The boy band was in Ireland yesterday for their "Where We Are" stadium tour, which was the first of their European leg. One Direction will be in London on June 6. There are also rumors of a sequel to One Direction's movie documentary "This is Us" with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
